My daughter was 7 1/2 when diagnosed with FMS, this January 2002. But she was 4 when diagnosed with IBS and she has had pain of some kind since she was old enough to tell me she hurt. She has since also been diagnosed with chronic and migraine headaches. She can't go outside if the temperature is over 80. She can't go out in sunlight without wearing dark sun glasses because if she does she'll have a migraine. I think everyone should be made aware of FMS, CFS, CFIDS (I think I got that right). Because everyone including our family thinks I am crazy and that she will out grow it. If she doesn't get 10 hours of sleep then she can't function at school. Last year I had to fight with her school so badly that I was ready to go to court over it. So we moved to a new school district. and they are wonderful and totally supportive. But not everyone is. I am truely thankful to God that I found this site. I as a parent of a child with FMS wish it were me and not her. I truely think there should be a law passed to get everyone to wake up and smell the coffee. I would be the first one to go to Washington to fight.

I have been looking over your site, Seems that you have the kind of information I am interested in. I am a male 43yrs. Have had Fibromyalgia since 1983. Over the years I seen my body deteriate my motor functions decreace. Now I am losing the ability to walk or stand. I am not bitter or angry, I learned to live with what I can do. I am in a great deal of pain most of the time, do to the ignorence of Doctors I am unable to get the treatment I need to continue. I am a very Spiritaul man. I thank GOD for each and every day. I will continue to monitor your Website for information. I must say your site is quite informative. I look forward to a relationship together.

This site was one of the first that I saved as "favorites" a few months after I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I was diagnosed in July 2000, three months after my 50th birthday. I have been thriving, as well as I can, with this disease. I would like to give a special thanks to Jan in Brooklyn for her hospitality when I visited her during a trip to NYC in Oct 2001.
