Fibromyalgia And Me

By: Melanie Woodruff

I’m awake grasping, groping
Hoping against hope
Need something
To hold onto.
To survive
Today

Again
Survive it
Got to ride it
Wave after wave
Pain over takes me
Wave after wave
Got to ride it
Survive it
Again

Misery
Is my pain
I have to hide it
I can’t let you see
Put on my mask, smile
It’s no easy thing being me.

Quote: The friend who can be silent with us in our moments of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in times of grief and breavement, - who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing, and face us with the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares.
