Immediately after my divorce I had a couple of these dating services to contact me. Hey, I just lost 31 years down the drain. How insensitive can you get? I did not respond, so then they went the mail route of which I shredded. After several times they finally gave up. One day as all these popup about dating whatever.com I decided to go into one of them just to see what the process was. Well first, they want your money up front and you select how many months you want. Thank goodness I signed on at three months. The first thing you do is of course is to use a unique user name. Then there is a profile system. I selected ages between 58-65. They wanted to know about your religion, interests, what you would like on the first date with a stranger, I might add. Color of hair, eyes, your height, your salary range and so on. You had the option to leave blank if you so choose. Another section was called turn ons and turn offs. I thought I would try telling the truth without the personal phone, home, etc. So I filled out as much as I could by being truthful. You composed a mini profile about yourself and hobbies or sports, mostly athletic types were wanted. Plus this age group wanted younger women even though they peeked into this age range. I got through as much as I wanted to share then I said I had one drawback and it is Fibromyalgia. I was limited to anything athletic and was home bound a lot of the time. Your email goes through the service so unless you give it out the other guy does not know. I had a couple of hits wanting to know what in the world was Fibromyalgia. Another hit said he looked it up and was sorry I had it. Shortly I changed my profile to jazz it up a bit assumed another username, zip code etc. Still I left in the Fibromyalgia. No hits at all here except one man wanted to know if I would raise him. Fat chance, he sent his picture and it was indeed a FAT CHANCE, ugh! I went into a couple of the other dating services. One took my money and never listed me and the other one was free, so tried it. It was mostly the 30 age group. Now, I am either not what a man would want or it is the Fibro. I choose to think it is the latter. Back to the turn ons and offs. It was skinny- dipping, long hair, slender, be passionate in public, tattoos, body piercing and erotica, and some more explicit things. I had one hit that said he did not like my turn offs; he wanted sex and lots of it. It was really amazing to see what this age group is up to and able to do. Let’s just say it was a learning experience. I made one pen pal and got out of there without finishing my time. Think I had rather stay home and take my medications and watch movies. So I have enrolled in an online class and will reap more education there.
