A CHAT WITH THE EDITOR:
“Footprints on the sands of time are not made by sitting down” ~ Dove chocolate wrapper
I know my source for this saying is out of the ordinary. But most of us have been down the road of chocolate cravings more than once. For some of us it’s a medicinal remedy. So, I decided, if I am going to indulge anyhow, I may as well get some inspiration out of it at the same time.
Looking at the words though, I couldn’t help but relate them to how many of us react to our illnesses. We tend to stop moving forward. We tend to sit down, often finding it difficult to get moving again. And who’s to blame us? We go through months, often years, searching for a diagnosis. We go through doctors and tests and spend hours searching the Internet for answers. When we finally get to the point where we know what we have, we are tired.
It’s what we choose to do after the sitting down period that makes me take kindly to those words above. We can’t just keep sitting, hoping that time is going to magically reverse itself. We have to come to terms with our new lives and stand up and try to move forward. We need to put more footprints in the sand. We still have many, many things to offer the world, our families, our loved ones, our friends, even a stranger down the road.
How do we continue on? One step at a time. We aren’t out to win any races, we just want to make a showing. Start with one goal for the day. That’s all it takes to get those footprints started again.
Until next week, I wish you a healthy trail of footprints.

** “Autoimmune or Viral Disease? Consider Vaccine Contamination “
Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, Asthma, Lupus, Lymes, Depression, Colitis and Diabetes. Chances are good that you, or some one in your family may be suffering from one of these diseases. The incidence of chronic and degenerative disorders has been steadily on the increase in this country over the last several decades. Our society has been somewhat complacent, accepting these conditions as the inevitable consequence of progress and the resulting pollution of our environment.

**Anyone who suffers from a long term illness or disability has to learn to cope with the many and varied reactions of others: friends, colleagues, relatives and neighbours. Their family also have to learn strategies for dealing with the reactions of others. These reactions are not always helpful and you can frequently find yourself astounded at the lack of understanding on the part of other people.

Two Elderly Ladies At Tea
Two elderly women were fussing about their husbands over tea one day.
"I do wish my Leroy would stop biting his nails. That makes me terribly nervous!" the first one said.
"Oh, my Elmer used to do the same thing," the other woman commented. "But I broke him of that habit real quick."
"What did you do?"
"I hid his teeth!"
